Job summary

Bruegger's Bagels is seeking a District Shift Leader who will participate in a General Manager development plan to lead a bakery location. You will manage shifts, mentor teams, and ensure quality food and guest experience while supporting other locations in the market as needed.

Expect early start times as early as 3am, travel to nearby stores, and a path to GM ownership when opportunities arise. This role emphasizes coaching, scheduling, and financial oversight in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Willing to work varied hours including early mornings.
• Must pass background check and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by end of GM development plan.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations at the home location.
• Support other bakeries in the market as needed.
• Provide coaching and training to teams on shift.
• Manage inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash handling.
• Participate in GM development plan to advance to GM position.
• Ensure high-quality food/beverages and maintain a safe, clean store.

Once the development plan is complete, you will be next in line to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position is available!What’s a day in the life of a District Shift Leader?District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and are expected to support other bakeries in the market as needed. Traveling provides the opportunity to gain further independence and learn from additional leaders in the area. District Shift Leaders are the next General Manager in the organization and lead to that standard in the absence of the General Manager.Shifts begin as early as 3am for the first bake and store opening duties. You will lead by example, be a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training for the teams. Our bakeries are busy, and you will jump into different roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for our guests and keep a safe, clean store environment.The GM development plan will include training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management. You will learn valuable skills as you grow into a GM role such as P&L analysis, how to achieve food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.
