Job summary

AMH, a leading single-family rental and homebuilding company, seeks a District Manager to oversee operations of a portfolio within the assigned market. You will mentor the local district team, drive profitability, and align with company goals across departments to execute the district vision.

Responsibilities include rent collection, leasing, maintenance, budgeting, and strategic asset management. A State Real Estate License is required within 60 days, along with 5+ years of general management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance or business management.
• 5+ years of general management experience with full P&L responsibility and 8+ direct reports.
• Experience in Property Operations, Real Estate or Property Management preferred.
• State Real Estate License required within 60 days of start date.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute the strategic vision for the operation and profitability of the district.
• Monitor assets for quality, marketability, performance, and fit; advise on acquisitions/dispositions.
• Lead, train, and coach the district team; provide feedback for development.
• Oversee rent collection, leasing, maintenance, budgeting, and HOA compliance.
• Analyze monthly financials to improve profitability and support process improvements.
• Handle special cases including evictions or legal issues as needed.
• Implement resident retention programs and assess their effectiveness.
