Job summary

Upper Darby School District is seeking a District Duplicating Center Operator/Printer to run the district’s central print shop. Responsible for operation, maintenance, and production management of print materials for instructional and administrative purposes, ensuring timely, cost-effective output and excellent service to district staff.

You will manage high-volume printers, ensure quality control, maintain schedules, and coordinate vendor service when needed.

Qualifications

• Education level: High School (required).
• Work Experience: 2-3 years; prior experience operating high-volume digital copiers and production printers.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-volume production printers, copiers, and finishing equipment.
• Review, adjust, and prepare electronic files for print quality.
• Produce instructional materials, testing documents, booklets, newsletters, manuals, and administrative publications.
• Ensure quality control for alignment, color, pagination, and finishing accuracy.
• Maintain production schedules and prioritize jobs based on deadlines and district needs.
• Receive and process print requests through designated ordering systems.
• Communicate job specifications, timelines, and cost considerations to staff.
• Provide recommendations for efficient printing methods and paper options.
• Track print job volume and departmental chargebacks if applicable.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Coordinate vendor service calls for major repairs.
• Maintain inventory of paper, toner, ink, and finishing supplies.
• Monitor equipment performance and report replacement needs.
• Ensure confidentiality of student records, assessments, and personnel materials.
• Adhere to copyright laws and district policies during reproduction.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment per OSHA and district standards.
