Cultivate Land and People: An Opportunity to Drive Impact

We seek a visionary, results‑driven leader to lead the Louisiana District. This is not a job; it is a mission to maximize the value, sustainability, and output of 145,000 acres of prime timberland.

Your Mandate & Ownership
  • Commanding the P&L: Direct the creation and execution of annual capital and operating budgets, driving profitability and meeting cost targets.
  • Orchestrating the Operation: Oversee harvest planning, the silvicultural lifecycle, and a robust transportation network, ensuring product quality and on‑time delivery.
  • Pioneering Innovation: Partner with Business Development, Land Services, and Portfolio Management to unlock land potential and optimize value.
  • Leading from the Front: Provide high‑level supervision to staff and contractors, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Championing the Land and the People: Serve as Rayonier’s face in the Gulf South, building relationships with local communities, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders while ensuring adherence to BMPs, SOPs, and stewardship principles.
The Profile for Success
  • Expertise in Action: Bachelor’s in Forestry or related field (required). Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 10 years in forest operations and 5+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Business Savvy: Proven P&L and complex budget management experience; data‑driven decision making focused on profitability.
  • A Natural Leader: Motivator and mentor who empowers teams to own responsibilities and grow careers; strong communication skills for leading diverse teams and engaging external partners.
  • The Heart of a Steward: Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and BMPs, recognizing the responsibility of managing 145,000 acres for long‑term success.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This role involves extensive physical activity—including hiking across varied terrain, carrying equipment, operating machinery and power tools, and performing strenuous tasks such as inventory measurements and sale setup. Work may include periods on uneven surfaces, navigating obstacles, and operating under diverse weather conditions. Approximately 25% travel is required.

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and disability insurance.
  • Health Savings Account and Dependent Care Spending Account.
  • Employee Assistance Plan and wellness reimbursements.
  • Monthly vehicle allowance (for certain positions).
  • Annual health screenings, wellness seminars, and financial counseling & planning tools.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching contributions and a 3% enhanced contribution.
  • Flexible work schedules, hybrid work-from-home options, and a minimum of three weeks paid vacation.
  • 5 paid personal days, 11 paid holidays, and paid sick leave annual.
  • Paid parental and caregiver leave, 80% tuition reimbursement, and career development programs.
