Job summary

District Wide, serving Russell County Schools in Jamestown, Kentucky, is seeking a full-time maintenance worker to perform a variety of upkeep tasks in school buildings, facilities and grounds. You will repair, install and assist with the construction of doors, partitions, furniture, shelving; set up for events; operate hand and power tools.

• Repair, install and assist in the construction of doors, partitions, furniture, shelving; set up for events; move furniture.
• Operate a variety of maintenance equipment and hand/power tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on doorknobs, locks, hinges, closures, strike plates and panic bars.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and apply finishes and coverings as needed.
• Maintain routine records related to maintenance activities.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Lift heavy objects.
• Work cooperatively with others.

• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair work independently as instructed or assist other skilled trade personnel to maintain school buildings, facilities and grounds in proper condition.
• Repair, assemble, install and assist in the construction of doors, partitions, furniture, bulletin boards, shelving and other items; set up for special events; move furniture.
• Operate a variety of maintenance equipment and machines including hand and power tools.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on doorknobs, locks, hinges, closures, strike plates and panic bars.
• Prepare surfaces for painting; apply finishes and coverings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and cutters as necessary.
• Maintain routine records related to maintenance activities.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Lift heavy objects.
• Work cooperatively with others.
