Job summary

Purple Land Management (PLM) is seeking a District Landman to analyze title chains, statutes, and oil & gas data to determine ownership and identify title issues. The role involves recommending development strategies for clients and ensuring vendor deliverables meet quality standards.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in a relevant field, with experience in oil & gas land work; law degrees or related expertise are a plus. All information remains confidential per EEO guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of oil & gas experience as a land professional.
• Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Land Management, or Energy Commerce preferred.
• Will consider a law degree or related field as alternative

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze title chains to determine surface, mineral, and royalty ownership shares.
• Identify burdens or title defects that may impede development.
• Recommend necessary curative actions to ensure compliance with statutes and regulations.
• Communicate real property issues to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
• Approve or deny vendor invoices based on work quality and quantity.
• Negotiate easements, oil and gas leases, or other contracts at favorable market rates.
