Okemos Public Schools is seeking a District Director of Technology to provide strategic leadership for the district's technology staff and infrastructure. You will guide cybersecurity initiatives, policy development, and district-wide tech planning to support learning goals established by the Board of Education.

SUMMARY: To provide leadership to ensure that district technology staff and infrastructure support the school district’s mission, goals and learner profiles established by the Board of Education.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises, hires, evaluates, disciplines and determines duties of all members of the Media and Technology department.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and legal documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, general public and Board of Education.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, teaching staff, administrators, other employees of the district, and community. Effective individual and group communication skills. Ability to lead small and large groups. Ability to apply various types of technology to teaching and learning processes. Ability to manage fiscal resources. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board of Education policies. Training, knowledge, and experience with information systems, current district technologies, management software, Windows operating systems, local area computer networks, telephone systems, voice, video and data communications systems, Internet and Intranet systems and information systems support. Displays leadership skills in planning, instruction, decision-making and conflict resolution.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to interact with staff, meet deadlines with severe time constraints, and occasionally work irregular or extended work hours. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee will drive occasionally.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
