The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 3 seeks a District Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead district maintenance operations, guide engineering analysis, supervise staff, and help shape maintenance strategies.

You will oversee annual work plans, review budgets, monitor performance, inspect roadways, ensure environmental compliance, and may telework part-time after probation while reporting to the Montoursville headquarters.

Qualificações

• One year of experience as an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager or Transportation Construction Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Seven years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects, which includes or is supplemented by one year of highway maintenance, highway construction, or heavy equipment maintenance supervisory experience
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by one year of highway maintenance, highway construction, or heavy equipment maintenance supervisory experience.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a District Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will perform the following duties:

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

• One year of experience as an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager or Transportation Construction Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
• Seven years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects, which includes or is supplemented by one year of highway maintenance, highway construction, or heavy equipment maintenance supervisory experience ; or

Special Requirement

• All positions require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
