Job summary

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Alternative: High School diploma with two years experience operating a civil or military power system.
• Knowledge of DERs, DERAs, virtual power plants and grid operations preferred.
• Certifications such as NERC/EPRI may be required as the role evolves.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

• Coordinate actions across DDCs, SCC, Transmission and partners for switching and restoration.
• Identify DER-related constraints and mitigation strategies for normal and critical conditions.
• Perform real-time and look-ahead reliability assessments and contingency analyses.
• Support DER/DERA grid-service operations, including voltage support and resiliency applications.
• Maintain accurate operational records and support documentation improvements for DERMS/ADMS.

This role works across DDCs, the SCC, Transmission, engineering, planning, applications, and external stakeholders to identify reliability risks, communicate system constraints, recommend mitigation strategies, and support DER-enabled grid services.
