This position will manage incoming shipments and ensure accurate inventory control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving goods, inspecting deliveries, updating inventory systems and assisting in maintaining a well-organized distribution center. Additionally, this position assists the Service Center Manager in scheduling work and provides work direction to the Service Center team members. Acts as backup to the Service Center Manager, performing responsibilities of position as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Conduct schedule cycle counts and request spot counts.
- Accurately log items into the inventory management system
- Report discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate department.
- Coordinate returns or exchanges with vendors when necessary.
- Assists with all functions of other Service Center team members as needed to accomplish daily workload.
- Safely operates all necessary types of equipment to conduct phases of the distribution cycle.
- Ensures the distribution area is clean, organized, and complies with all safety regulations
- Adheres to and enforces all safety requirements including use of proper PPE.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance as needed.
- Maintains simple reports on work orders and quantities produced.
- Reviews daily distribution schedule for the department to ensure proper coverage for the shift. Notifies Service Center Manager of any variances immediately.
- Supervises and directs distribution team members in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for documenting pertinent information for the performance assessment of the distribution team members.
- Conducts performance assessment/progress report meetings with distribution team members.
- Back up driver for Delivery Direct program during absence of regular driver
- Immediately notifies Service Center Manager of any quality issues or shipping error.
- Backup for Service Center Manager in their absence.
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- Communicates as needed internally and externally to provide and receive information, resolve questions and issues, and coordinate activities.
- Conducts safety and 5-S audits and maintains good housekeeping in the department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Physical ability to do work requires frequent lifting, twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for 8+ hours per day.
- Ability to frequently bend, stretch and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and have a clean driving record.
- Must maintain annual DOT certification.

- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn, make mistakes and have a good sense of humor.
- Ability to learn to use tape measure, calipers, micrometers & propylene/acetylene cutting torches.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train in other areas
DUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in inventory, receiving or distribution operations
PREFERRED:
- Some College – Preferred
- 3 years of industry experience
- Experience with inventory management systems
