Job Description:The Distribution Scheduler Expeditor is responsible for planning, prioritizing, and expediting production schedules while considering customer demand, building capacity, product mix, and material availability that ensures on-time delivery to our customers.Due to the nature of this position, interaction with all departments throughout the organization is common in addition to corporate interaction.This job description lists major areas of responsibility and additional job activities may be added at any time.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop production schedules for all freight types and customer order types based on equipment, labor, customer priority and inventory availabilityCompletes the wave builds in the warehouse management systemUpdates the wave sheets and communicates to distribution supervisors when work is ready to be releasedAllocates orders and releases work to distribution for the fulfillment associates to pick and consolidateSchedule loads in customer TMS and monitor to meet expected ship datesSchedule loads per shipping capacityCommunicate and collaborate with various operations departments to ensure timely release and completion of production ordersAchieve target customer service levelsActively participate in daily or weekly production meetings to review priorities, capacity constraints, and discuss current/future productionAllocates product in inventory to outbound ordersResponsible for overall organization and cleaning of areaOther duties as required and assignedPhysical DemandsGeneral office settingRepetitive motionAble to work in various temperature conditionsEducation, Skills and Experience RequirementsRequires education equivalent to four years of high school; two year degree preferredAbility to skillfully navigate in WMS systemMust have 5 years direct or indirect experience in a distribution center scheduling roleStrong organizational skills and stellar attention to detail are essentialSolid communication skills, both written and verbalProficient math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividingWorking knowledge in MS OfficePhysical and Weight Lifting DemandsThe physical and weight lifting demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
