E2 Consulting Engineers, LP seeks a Distribution Project Planner in San Diego to support strategic project planning for gas and electric facilities. You will visit sites, collect data, and help define scope for low-to-moderate complexity designs from inception to completion.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, MS Office, Smartsheet, SAP, and related web tools, plus collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2+ years of experience on utility distribution projects.
• Design experience with Overhead, Underground, or Gas.
• Ability to communicate design approaches and decisions.
• Substitute in project meetings when PM/Designer absent.
• Coordinate with team and customers to develop compliant designs.

Responsabilités

Overview

The Distribution Project Planner will assist in the development of strategic project plans, which will help the Company meet its goals.

Responsibilities

• Visits work sites to collect information and assist with determination of scope to enable designs of low to moderate complexity for additions and modifications to Company gas and/or electric facilities from onset through completion of project.
• As necessary, meets with customers to identify specific design limitations, and customer requests.
• Prepares service orders, field memos and light construction work orders with safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that conform to Company policies, safety orders, and CPUC regulations.
• Provide knowledge of and experience with the interpretation and application of design and engineering principals, overhead, underground, distribution, CPUC Rules, gas and electric theory standard practices and construction calculations.
• Required proficiency in AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, MS Office applications, Smartsheet, SAP and web based applications. Identifies site specific obstacles, relays this information to customers, and presents design options for consideration.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma.
• 2+ years of experience working on utility distribution system projects.
• Designer experience(Overhead, Underground, or Gas).
• Communicates with other project team members in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards.
• Ability to effectively communicate with regards to design approach and decisions made during the design process.
• In the absence of the Project Manager or Project Designer, able to substitute in project meetings and communicate effectively with regards to the design.
• Communicates with other project team members and customers in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards.
• Moderate experience working with designers, planners and PM’s on matters related to design. Manages design files and functional organization of design comments and iterations.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Pay range for this position is $35 - $40/hr. The starting rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in both office and field settings.
• Frequent travel to customer locations is required to gather information to develop project scope.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, traffic, noise, and other field hazards may occur.
• Requires interaction with customers, clients, engineers, designers, and operations personnel.

• Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and traversing uneven terrain during site visits.

• Requires visual acuity and attention to detail to inspect existing facilities and collect field data.
• Ability to operate a vehicle and travel to multiple site locations as needed.

This position will require travel to the client location in San Diego.
