Job summary

The Ames Companies in Ocala, FL is seeking a Warehouse Associate to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment, stock and move merchandise in a manufacturing setting.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, experience with RF scanners and inventory software, and the ability to lift 55 lbs. Industrial lift truck certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of RF scanners and inventory software.
• Able to push, pull, lift 55 lbs continuously.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Stock and store merchandise in appropriate areas.
• Load, unload, move, stock and stage products using forklifts or similar equipment.
• Prepare product for shipment ensuring correct counts and types.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper records.

Job description

Responsible for operating a forklift, electric pallet jack, reach truck, other material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stocking and counting merchandise in accordance to production standards. All associates must be able to cross train in all core distribution functions including unloading, put away, picking, replenishing, loading, small parcel area, rework, returns, display building, and possess basic WMS skills.

Major Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stock and store merchandise in appropriate areas.
• Loading, unloading, moving, stocking and staging products and materials using a forklift, reach truck, walkie, or other material handling equipment.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded.
• Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy.
• Comply with all OSHA regulations and MSDS standards.
• Report quality variances.
• Maintain the facilities equipment and materials in a neat clean orderly fashion.
• Assist in physical inventories.
• Conduct operations in a manner promoting safety.
• Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following traveler packet.
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips and other fasteners.
• May work on a line or in a cell where tasks and product may vary

Education Requirements

• High School or GED recommended
• Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems
• Knowledge of RF Scanner
• Able to push, pull, lift 55 LBS continuously throughout the shift

Certificates/Licensure/Training

• Must pass and maintain industrial lift truck certification
