Job summary

Exelon is seeking a qualified gas distribution technician to perform construction, maintenance and operation of low, medium and high pressure gas systems. The role requires working across various service buildings in different regions, with the flexibility to respond to emergencies and off-hour calls.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with CDL readiness, and the ability to pass respirator and physical exams.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license and meet Exelon’s driving criteria, including CDL requirements.
• Ability to pass medical examinations (Respirator, CDL, physicals) and aptitude tests.
• Good mechanical, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and operate gas distribution systems using hand and power tools.
• Work at service buildings across multiple regions as assigned.
• Respond to off-hour and emergency calls as required.

Job description

Primary Purpose of Position

Performs the functions necessary for the construction, maintenance and operation of low, medium and high pressure gas distribution system in accordance with the gas construction standards using hand and power tools and the necessary equipment required to do the task.

Positions will be located at various service buildings in the Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester County Regions.

Position Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license, meet Exelon's Driving criteria, and be able to meet and maintain the CDL requirements.
• Ability to pass all the medical examinations: Respirator, CDL and physicals.
• Ability to pass Aptitude test.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work shift work.
• Must be able to respond to off hour/emergency calls.
• Ability to work in stressful situations.
• Respirator fit test qualifications and safe weight requirements maintained.
• Ability to work in and adapt to adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to work without supervision and/or with others.
• Ability to resolve complex problems.
• Must be clean shaven at the time of hire due to safety regulations.

Mandatory assessments will be held in July 2024 with a start date in October 2024.
