Job summary

Baxter Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Supervisor II, Distribution and Logistics in a United States manufacturing setting to lead warehouse operations, ensure safe and quality-focused performance, and manage inventory accuracy on the floor.

You will lead a small team, coordinate with Quality, Plant Operations, and Sales, and drive KPIs such as accuracy and on-time shipments in a regulated environment. This role requires SAP experience and hands-on leadership on the shop floor.

  • Practical experience with ERP/WMS systems (preferably SAP) and inventory management.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing logistics equipment and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review upcoming shipments and coordinate with Manufacturing and Planning for product availability.
  • Oversee warehouse operations from receiving to shipping with hands-on floor leadership.
  • Lead and develop a small team of warehouse leads and associates.
  • Drive performance against warehouse metrics including accuracy, cycle counts, service level, and safety.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Plant Operations, and Sales to ensure compliance and service commitments.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA/ISO regulations and Good Warehousing Practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities and prepare performance reports.
  • Provide training and development to logistics staff and ensure certification readiness.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on safety, quality, and team development while maintaining high-performance standards. You will be directly involved in daily operations, applying your expertise to achieve flawless execution and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Logistics Management
  • Review upcoming shipments aligned with customer requirements and collaborate with Manufacturing and Planning to ensure product availability for timely shipment.
  • Take full responsibility for warehouse operations from start to finish, covering receiving, storage, picking, shipping, material handling, goods movement, transportation, and inventory management, while maintaining an active hands-on role on the floor.
  • Lead and develop a small team of warehouse leads and associates, setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and mentoring for consistent performance.
  • Drive performance against warehouse benchmarks including inventory accuracy, cycle count performance, service level, backorders, safety, and compliance.
  • Actively work alongside the team to remove barriers, resolve issues, and ensure critical priorities are met - especially during volume spikes or high-risk execution windows.
  • Build and sustain strong cross-functional partnerships with Quality, Plant Operations, and Sales to ensure compliance, align material availability, and support service commitments.
Inventory Management
  • Own inventory accuracy and integrity, including establishing and maintaining cycle count programs, investigating and resolving discrepancies, driving root cause analysis, and ensuring system and physical inventory alignment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP/WMS material transaction issues, ensuring accurate and timely inventory movements.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure materials are accurately accounted for.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to ensure that all materials are accurately ordered and received.
Managing Incoming and Outgoing Shipments
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including oversight of domestic and international receipts, shipments, and import/export documentation.
  • Coordinate the shipping and receiving of medical equipment, ensuring all products are accurately packaged and labeled.
  • Lead the shipping and receiving team in completing logistics activities efficiently and effectively.
Quality Control
  • Maintain compliance with federal medical device regulations and enforce Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) to support quality and regulatory standards.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities and prepare reports on logistics performance.
Training and Development
  • Lead performance feedback and development processes, supporting talent growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Offer training and assistance to logistics team members regarding the use and upkeep of medical equipment.
  • Ensure training, certification, and compliance readiness for all team members.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse execution, inventory, and system blocking issues, providing clear communication and data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations to support logistics-related projects and initiatives.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
  • Sustain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment, reinforcing GPS, 6S, standard work, and inventory rigor.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulations, acquiring legal compliance training.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the manufacturing facility.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating tools.
Work Environment
  • Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing plant setting.
  • Adherence to strict safety protocols and regulations.
  • Noise levels may be high due to machinery and equipment operation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
Education And/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience combined with over 5 years of advancing leadership roles in warehouse or operations management, including responsibility for inventory control OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience accompanied by 8+ years of advancing warehouse leadership experience, including senior‑level responsibility in a hands-on capacity.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $72,000 - $100,000 annually. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
