Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking a candidate to advise on distribution equipment products for construction projects in Bloomington. You’ll negotiate pricing with manufacturers and customers, and act as the branch’s technical resource for distribution equipment knowledge.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with related experience; a two-year trade school or four-year college degree is strongly recommended. Occasional lifting and standing are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of distribution equipment products and their applications; understanding of the bid process.

Responsibilities

• Interact with electrical contractors, architects, engineers, and owners to suggest distribution equipment products for construction projects.
• Negotiate pricing with manufacturers and customers.
• Serve as the technical distribution equipment expert within the branch.
• Collect and analyze quotations data by product type, manufacturer, bid amounts, and customers to identify patterns.

Job description

Primary Duties:

• Interact with distribution equipment electrical contractors, architects, engineers, and owners to suggest distribution equipment products to be used on all types of construction projects




• Negotiate pricing with manufacturers and customers.




• Act as source of technical distribution equipment expertise within the branch.




• Collect and analyze quotations data to determine patterns of success or failure. Measure by product type, manufacturer, bidamounts, and customers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two-year trade school or four-year college degree strongly recommended.




• Distribution equipment product and application knowledge as well as an understanding of the bid process.

Physical Demands:

• Occasional standing and walking.




• Frequent sitting and use of hands/fingers.




• Lifting up to 25 pounds is occasionally needed.




• Vision Requirements: close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
