Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to lead a growing Power Distribution Engineering team. The role focuses on directing engineers, QA/QC oversight, and ensuring high-quality deliverables for utility design projects across remote-to-hybrid work arrangements.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of relevant experience, a technical bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with NESC, design tools, and client engagements within Western PA.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in distribution engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience leading distribution design projects from kickoff through design approval.
  • Experience with utility reliability projects and QAQC processes.
  • Familiarity with the NESC and client engagement requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of distribution engineers and oversee project QAQC.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality design packages.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and cost estimates; manage resources and risk.
  • Provide mentorship and management for staff and direct reports.

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager who is passionate about electric utility design engineering.This position will be working with our growing Power Distribution Engineering team. This role will require leading other distribution engineers, oversight and QAQC of both simple and complex engineering projects, working directly with clients, and ensuring the Leidos reputation of high quality is maintained.

Location: This position offers a remote work arrangement with the expectation of transitioning to a hybrid or fully in-office role in the future. Preference will be given to candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan area ( Western Pennsylvania ) to support local utility clients as business needs require. The selected candidate must be available to attend in-person meetings, site visits, and client engagements throughout the Pennsylvania service territory on an as-needed basis.

Background must haves
  • 5+ years of prior relevant experience is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred); additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree
  • Execution of distribution projects from kickoff through design approved

  • 10%-30% working with client remotely
  • 60%-80% Engineering and development of design pkgs for customer

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
