Insight Global is seeking a Distribution Designer II to design complex distribution power facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The focus is highway relocation work with the DOT, involving field work, client meetings, and remote design tasks.

You will deliver safe, cost-effective, reliable designs and support project management from kickoff to closeout. This role requires collaboration with engineers and field crews.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor degree in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related field and at least one year of utility experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in the power/electrical utilities industry
  • 1 year of project experience focused on highway relocation work for the DOT
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work both remotely from a home office, in the field at sites and client meetings

The purpose of the Distribution Designer II position is to apply technical skills to design complex projects that are safe, cost effective and reliable distribution power facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The focus of this role is to manage highway relocation projects partnering with the DOT. This involves field work, client meetings, design work (remotely) and project management skills.
