Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Distribution Designer to develop and refine electrical distribution designs at our Ceredo, WV site. The role supports engineers by producing drawings, specifications, and estimates and by coordinating with field teams to ensure project schedules are met.

The position is fully onsite with training, with potential flexibility after training. Ideal for applicants with foundational technical skills and a willingness to learn CAD, GIS, and distribution

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors
• Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry and company standards covering the assigned work
• Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions
• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules
• Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance

Entry Level Distribution Designer

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.

Essential Skills

• Thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in one or more areas: Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, CADD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, design, utility design, electrical design, GIS, distribution engineering, civil engineering, CAD, substation design, transmission design, mechanical design, surveying, protective relay, and instrumentation controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Distribution Designer Associate: Associate Degree or the equivalent in a technical field preferred but not required
• Demonstration of previous work experience- does not need to be industry related work experience
• Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job duties and responsibilities.

In-office opportunity with flexible hours upon training completion. Opportunity to work from home for 2 days a week once trained, at the discretion of management.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ceredo, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
