Job summary

Colson Group seeks a Quality Inspector in Phoenix, AZ to ensure products meet our quality standards and promote a culture of quality across the facility. The role involves inspecting shipments, measuring samples, and training team members to improve production quality.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in quality operations, knowledge of Lean, APQP/PPAP, 8D, and proficiency with Excel and blueprint reading.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
• Quality certification strongly desired.
• Proficiency with 5 Why (Root Cause Analysis)
• Familiar with AS9100 or similar quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect shipments of inventory and raw goods to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Document inspection results and data to drive continuous improvement.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the DC operation.
• Assist with new hire training on quality policies and procedures.
• Maintain records and generate required reports.
• Collaborate with staff to resolve quality issues and sustain quality standards.

Quality Inspector**Reports To: **Lead Quality Technician or DesigneeJob Summary:The Quality Inspector is responsible for making sure products meet the Colson Group quality standard, and promote a quality culture throughout the facility. Examine shipments of inventory and raw goods, measure specifications of samples in each production run and train team members to refine production quality.Direct and support plant quality function efforts in development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that will reduce the cost of quality and meet/exceed customer requirements.Primary Responsibilities:Supports implementation of Colson Group quality procedures at the DC operationDocument inspection, certification and other applicable data to drive continuous improvement activities and processesSupport DC Operations systemic continuous improvement initiatives as necessaryAssists with new hire training and ensures new employees understand quality policiesMaintains appropriate recordsGather information and generate required and/or requested reportsWork with employees to resolve quality issues and techniquesAbides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulationsPerforms other related duties and projects as assignedSkills/RequirementsUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP and 8D ProcessesWorking knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure productsMust be good with numbers and able to work with several part numbers simultaneouslyReview blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goodsWillingness to learn additional quality skills through educational opportunitiesIndependent workerAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisGood interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and must be detail orientedConducts themselves in a professional mannerExperience:One to three years experience in Quality operationsFamiliar with warehouse, manufacturing, distribution center, settingEducation:Minimum high school graduate or equivalentQuality certification strongly desiredYou should be proficient in:5 Why (Root Cause Analysis Method)AS9100 ExperienceBasic Computer Skills
