Responsibilities

  • Leads the production planning process with the local distribution center leadership team, forecasting labor and equipment needs, creating staffing plans, and making real-time adjustments to meet daily, weekly, and seasonal production goals.
  • Coordinates building resources and collaborates with local distribution center departments to ensure alignment and execution of production plans, facilitating cross-departmental meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Partners with human resources and the local distribution center leadership team to manage staffing needs, including scheduled time off, ensuring adequate workforce availability.
  • Identifies and resolves backlogs by analyzing bottlenecks, reallocating resources, and addressing opportunities for process improvement within the local distribution center.
  • Monitors key performance indicators to ensure production and staffing plans are being executed effectively, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance and meet operational targets.
  • Educates and trains the local distribution center leadership team on production planning processes, tools, and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.

Nature and Scope

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
