Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Distribution Center Associate to support inventory integrity, order processing, and general warehouse tasks at the Patterson, CA site. You will report to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and collaborate with teammates to meet quality and safety standards.

The role offers daytime shifts, starting at $23.65 per hour with raises to $24.85, plus incentives for PIE operators and overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical lifting assessment.
• For PIE operators: operate warehouse vehicles including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, Turret Truck and Forklift.
• Previous warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments.
• Great attention to detail, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing products.
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed.
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed.
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements.
• Perform other tasks as directed by leadership.

Compensation

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $23.65/hour [with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $24.85/hour]

• + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators**
• $1/hour for working overnight shift

The Distribution Center Associate performs warehouse responsibilities and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – picking, packing, staging, shipping, general maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to guarantee a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with safety requirements by performing inspections and maintenance. You will role report directly to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and have regular interaction with other DC Associates.

Shift:

Days: Monday - Friday 9:15am or 9:45am until closing time (can be as late as 8:00pm)

You Will

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail. For example, unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing products

You Have

• Comfort working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds
• Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical lifting assessment
• **For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles, material handling equipment and powered industrial equipment, including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, Turret Truck and Forklift
• Previous warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments
• Great attention to detail, quality, and safety
