California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks a full-time driver to support the Basic Needs & Student Support Department, transporting food and essential goods between community partners and CSUSB pantries at Obershaw Den (San Bernardino) and The Den (Palm Desert Campus).
The role requires safe loading, inventory management, and adherence to food safety standards, with vehicle inspections and meticulous transport logs to ensure uninterrupted pantry operations.
The purpose of this position is to support the food security operations of the Department of Basic Needs & Student Support by safely transporting, selecting, loading, unloading, and delivering food and essential goods between community partners and CSUSB’s Obershaw Den (San Bernardino) and The Den (Palm Desert Campus). The position ensures reliable, compliant, and efficient movement of inventory to maintain consistent access to basic needs resources for students.
The purpose of this position is to support the food security operations of the Department of Basic Needs & Student Support by safely transporting, selecting, loading, unloading, and delivering food and essential goods between community partners and CSUSB’s Obershaw Den (San Bernardino) and The Den (Palm Desert Campus). The position ensures reliable, compliant, and efficient movement of inventory to maintain consistent access to basic needs resources for students.
Working knowledge of methods, practices, and equipment used in receiving, storing, packing, and shipping materials and supplies. General knowledge of methods of taking inventories and maintaining inventory records.
The salary offered will take into account internal equity and experience among other factors.
Initial salary step placement will be Step 1 - $3,461 to Step 7- $3,898 per month for qualified candidates.
CSU Classification Salary Step Range: $3,461 - $4,752 per month (Step 1 – Step 17)

CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Possession of a valid Driver's License is required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
Employment is contingent upon candidate passing a pre-employment physical exam with the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
The person holding this position is considered a `mandated reporter` under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
