Position Summary
The Manager of Distribution and Fulfillment leads the company's North American distribution network and warehouse operations, overseeing company-owned distribution centers, third‑party logistics (3PL) partners, installer pickup locations, and distribution personnel. This role drives operational excellence by optimizing inventory flow, ensuring safety and efficiency, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver materials where and when they are needed to support business growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee distribution and fulfillment operations across the North American network, establishing standardized operating procedures, warehouse and fulfillment standards, and operational controls to ensure accurate order fulfillment, efficient inventory flow, on‑time material availability, and exceptional service levels.
- Develop and execute distribution and fulfillment strategies, KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to improve order accuracy, fulfillment cycle time, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency, customer service, and overall network performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing distribution and fulfillment workflows, implementing Lean methodologies, and improving picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and material replenishment processes to strengthen current and future network capabilities.
- Manage warehouse and fulfillment infrastructure, including facility conditions, material handling equipment, storage optimization, space utilization, and safety programs to support efficient receiving, storage, fulfillment, and shipping operations.
- Lead vendor and third‑party logistics (3PL) management by developing strategic supplier relationships, monitoring fulfillment performance and service‑level agreements (SLAs), conducting performance reviews, and ensuring quality, capacity, redundancy, and cost competitiveness.
- Develop distribution and fulfillment team capabilities through training, competency development, and operational coaching while providing leadership with guidance and risk assessments related to warehouse operations, inventory management, fulfillment execution, and network performance.
Experience and Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations, including responsibility for large‑scale or multi‑site distribution networks.
- Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams, including geographically dispersed employees and cross‑functional partnerships.
- Experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process improvements, and operational controls.
- Experience managing third‑party logistics (3PL) providers, vendor relationships, and supplier performance.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, order fulfillment, inventory management, distribution best practices, service‑level performance, and operational KPIs.
- Experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, inventory management software, and fulfillment technologies to optimize inventory visibility and order execution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment while balancing strategic initiatives with day‑to‑day operational execution.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Demonstrated accountability, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications
- Professional certifications such as APICS/ASCM (CSCP/CLTD), Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, or relevant supply chain or operations certifications.
Travel Requirements
Occasional overnight travel is required (1‑10%).
Overtime / Additional Hours Requirements
Additional and non‑standard hours may be required (exempt).
