Job summary

Discord is seeking a backend engineer to build and operate large-scale distributed systems within the Realtime Infrastructure team in San Francisco. You will collaborate with product teams to create new features and help ensure the platform remains fast, reliable, and scalable.

Applicants should have 2+ years of backend design and distributed systems experience, with knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and open source software. Relocation to the San Francisco Bay Area may be available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of backend design and development experience.
• Experience solving complex distributed system challenges.
• Experience operating mission-critical tier-0 services.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting best practices.
• Familiar with open source software and reading source code.
