Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a Distinguished Architect for Trading & Investment Management Technology in Austin to lead target-state architecture for Broker Dealer, Advisory, and Models platforms. You will guide domain architects, shape enterprise architecture standards, and ensure alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes cloud-native, API-first evolution, and innovative solutions such as AI/ML, blockchain, and event-driven data platforms to transform trading

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (4-year degree).
• 5+ years in trading technology domains with knowledge of retail, self-directed, and private wealth trading.
• Experience with OMS/EMS, FIX protocol, and market data infrastructure.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into trading platforms.
• 8+ years in designing enterprise-class solution and data architectures (microservices, event-driven).
• Experience with AWS cloud-native architectures and Architecture as Code practices.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for Broker Dealer, Advisory, and Models platforms.
• Lead domain architects to maintain architectural coherence and quality across trading domains.
• Establish and evolve standards, reusable assets, and frameworks for scalable, secure, high-performance systems.
• Drive modernization to cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven designs.
