Job summary

Glanbia Nutritionals, Inc. in Linden, New Jersey, is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to support batch distillation and packaging operations in a fast-paced food-grade environment.

You will read batch tickets, operate distillation and pumping equipment, and ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, HACCP, FDA, and USDA standards. Strong English communication and basic math are required; forklift experience is essential. On-site training provided with opportunities for growth in a safety-conscious team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in batching environment preferred.
  • General chemistry understanding a plus.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong writing skills and able to communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate distillation or reactor processes, both vacuum and atmospheric.
  • Read batch tickets and instructions; distill batches in designated vessel.
  • Set up and use pumps, filters, scales and control heat/vacuum.
  • Pack products into containers and label as required.
  • Read and interpret Sage ERP batch sheets; track batches in Sage ERP.
  • Maintain batch records and logs with sufficient details.
  • Operate all on-site forklifts.
  • Follow GMP, SQF, HACCP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Summary: To be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner, to be able to read a batch ticket / instructions and distill a batch in a designated vessel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Distillation or reactor experience, both vacuum & atmospheric
  • General distillation process physics understanding vacuum, open/closed systems, forward and reflux distillation, system parts and function
  • Understanding basic separation, solvent recovery concepts
  • Ability to correctly identify and pour raw materials in designated vessel utilizing scales
  • Ability to set up and use pumps, filters, scales and other equipment as well as control heat/vacuum
  • Ability to pack products into the correct containers and label as required
  • Flavor / Food Industry experience a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret Sage ERP system’s batch sheets, track batches in Sage ERP system, submit sample to Quality and print stock labels
  • Able to perform basic math and convert units of measure
  • Diligent in batch-record & log keeping with sufficient details
  • Ability to operate all on-site forklifts
  • Ability to read and produce batches when given disposition from Quality
  • Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to GMP, SQF, HAACP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines
  • Compliance with the systems/programs of Flavor Producer’s Quality, Safety and Food Safety programs
  • Other tasks as assigned
