Job description

Overview

This is a union position. The successful candidate will be a member of IBEW Local 1600. The starting hourly rate for this position is $42.606 with the potential for overtime. Conducts field surveys and performs assignments associated with the design and engineering of overhead and underground facilities of various voltage levels. Assists in coordinating maintenance, operation and construction of all such facilities. This opening is located at our Buxmont Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Specifies design for single phase and three phase overhead and underground facilities according to specifications and defined compatible units.
• Prepares corrective maintenance, failed equipment and pole replacement work orders for overhead and underground facilities.
• Works with other utility companies, municipalities, corporations and authorities regarding joint use of distribution facilities.
• Prepares work orders, sketches, right-of-way requests, permit requests and estimates. Generates work orders in appropriate company systems and computer tools.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to meet with customers to satisfy project needs and service complaints.
• Determines customer obligations from Standard Practice Instructions for contracts, costs, billing and accounting purposes.
• Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

Basic Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year Engineering or Engineering Technology degree program from a school/program which has been accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation agency.
• Successful completion of the company's Training and Development Program for Distribution Service Technicians.
• Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
