W. W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Associate at the MTDC in Southaven, MS.

The role focuses on inventory integrity and order processing, including picking, packing, staging, shipping, and maintaining a safe, clean workplace. Starting pay is $18.70/hour with three raises within 12 months bringing it to $19.90/hour, plus an additional $1/hour for PIE operator duties. Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds.
• Comfort working on your feet around moving equipment and noise.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles and powered industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with attention to detail (unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing).
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to meet quality and delivery speed expectations.
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, attendance and overtime requirements as needed.
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment per OSHA and Hazardous Material rules.

Compensation

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $18.70/hour [with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $19.90/hour]

Position Details

The Distribution Center Associate performs warehouse responsibilities and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – picking, packing, staging, shipping, general maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to guarantee a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with safety requirements by performing inspections and maintenance. You will role report directly to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and have regular interaction with other DC Associates.

Work Schedule

Full Time - Mon - Fri 8:30am start to finish (non-PIE operator)

You Will

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail. For example, unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing products
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements
• Perform other tasks as directed by leadership

You Have

• Comfort working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds
• Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• **For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles, material handling equipment and powered industrial equipment, including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, Turret Truck and Forklift

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments
