Under general supervision responsible, as assigned, for the physical operation of the Central Warehouse and its storage yard. Instruct, direct and supervise physical employees in operation of the Warehouse.

What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate, direct and supervise work and personnel assigned to achieve the most efficient use of manpower and equipment.
  • Work with and supervise employees in the receiving, checking, shipping, tagging and storage of all material.
  • Work with and supervise employees in the rearranging and locating of material for efficient operation.
  • Work with and supervise employees in the issuing to and return of material from construction, maintenance and retirement work by operating departments.
  • Advise Central Warehouse Supervisor in the interest of maintaining sufficient inventory to supply the demand of the operating departments and storerooms.
  • Promote and enforce all safety practices to safeguard employees and the general public as they pertain to this function.
  • Assist in training employees.
  • Understand and apply the provisions of the labor agreement and/or the AEP Management Information and Policy Manual.
  • Attend supervisory meetings when scheduled by management.

What We're Looking For:
Education/Experience requirements listed below:
  • High School diploma or GED Experience
  • Four years of experience, to include at least two years of satisfactory performance as a Warehouse Material Handler A, or the equivalent.
Other Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate automotive equipment.
  • Must meet all vehicle operation requirements, including obtaining and maintaining a commercial driver's license (CDL), as designated by federal and/or state law.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise employees; coordinate their work; receive, interpret and transmit orders; and to give instructions in a manner that obtains effective work results.
  • A good working knowledge of the practices and procedures of the Company pertaining to receiving, issuing and storing material.
  • A good working knowledge of material handling and storage, material handling equipment and the operation of fork lifts, hand trucks and all other Warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
Drive Time Requirement:
  • Successful candidate must live or be willing to relocate within 45 mins of the East Transmission RDC Service Center (4000 Etna Pkwy Pataskala, Ohio 43062)

Act as lead for assigned Procurement projects and sourcing categories. Oversee the entire spend lifecycle for assigned categories, providing leadership to team members in a variety of strategic areas including sourcing, procurement, contracts, supplier relationship management, inventory management and material standardization. Highly advanced level of knowledge and responsibility for developing, negotiating, executing and maintaining strategic sourcing agreements for specific categories for the procurement of materials, equipment and/or services used by AEP internal customers. This position will identify cost reduction opportunities and capture real Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings (direct or indirect) by aggregating sourcing volumes. This position’s primary responsibility is to develop and execute strategic project-driven sourcing activities for a variety of market baskets that are normally associated with high-spend, high-impact, and often complex categories across multiple business unit stakeholders. Develop and implement strategies to achieve corporate savings goals. Establish effective relationships and work collaboratively with Business Unit customers, and suppliers to maintain customer satisfaction. Interface with Business Unit leadership to report ongoing progress to goals. Champion new initiatives that will support shared business objectives, support the business unit partner's needs, and enable the company to efficiently operate in a competitive and changing environment. Strategies will be developed in a collaborative effort between Supply Chain, Procurement, and the various Business Units and Operating Companies impacted by the program. Ensure corporate spend and savings goals are incorporated into the sourcing strategy and contracts. Develop and manage metrics/measurements to record the progress and actions related to the program processes.

Work independently. Provide consultation and instruction to internal personnel regarding performance, financial reporting, benchmarking and advanced report development. Develop data models and identify optimal solutions. Develop, facilitate and lead strategic and collaborative cross-functional implementation plans. Demonstrate superior problem-solving skills and serve as the highest-level resource in that area within the organization. Provide strategic direction and subject matter expertise regarding systems, processes and initiatives and follow through from development to full implementation. Prepare and deliver executive reporting and presentations. Mentor and lead assigned work activities of others within the work group, team, or department.

Support administration and execution of Procurement's Grants & Loans compliance program through documentation management, reporting, certification tracking, audit support, and process execution. Works with minimal supervision and demonstrates a self-driven, solutions-oriented approach. Writes deal summaries and deal details for more basic agreements. Applies various pricing models, cost containment models, pricing caps, and indices, and uses the total cost-of-ownership model as appropriate. Understands each party’s interests in negotiations and how issue recognition fits into the negotiation process. Leads and facilitates meetings effectively.
