Job summary

Independent Living Systems (ILS) in Miami seeks a Dispensing Pharmacist to ensure safe medication use in a community pharmacy setting.

You will dispense prescriptions, provide guidance on dosing and interactions, and collaborate with healthcare providers while maintaining regulatory compliance and patient confidentiality. This role also involves inventory management and immunizations to support community health.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree and active US pharmacist license.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmacy law.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and EHRs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients and verify the validity of prescriptions.
• Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and recommend alternative therapies when appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, including record-keeping and reporting requirements.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates.
• Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
• Participate in health promotion and disease prevention programs, offering immunizations and wellness advice.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all professional interactions.
