Job summary

BAART Program in California is seeking a detail-oriented Part Time Dispensing Nurse (LPN/LVN) to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team. The role collaborates with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors and includes maintaining dispensing equipment and medication inventory per federal and state regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a current CA LPN/LVN license (or Psychiatric Technician license substitution in CA), CPR certification, and familiarity with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• LPN/LVN license (CA) required or Psychiatric Technician license substituted in CA
• CPR certification required
• EMR and computer proficiency desired
• Experience in chemical dependency preferred
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Administer daily medication to patients according to policy and protocols
• Use automated dispensing systems and calibrate/maintain dispensing equipment
• Prepare and maintain records and reports per company protocol and regulations
• Ensure security standards for distribution and storage of controlled substances
• Order, receive and stock medications per DEA and state regulations
• Provide daily assessment of patients
• Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new staff
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Part Time Dispensing Nurse - LPN/LVN

BAART Program is looking for a detail oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team in partnership with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The dispensing nurse also shares responsibility ofmaintainingdispensing equipment, managing medicationinventoryand reporting patient treatment information.

An ideal dispensing nurse candidate works cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff anddemonstratesa non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward theSubstance Use Disorder.

Responsibilities:

• Administer daily medication to patientsin accordance withprogram policy and medical protocols.
• Use automated dispensing system(s), calibratepumpandmaintaindispensing equipment
• Produce andmaintainappropriate recordsand reports as required by Company protocol, Federal and State Regulations
• Ensure compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances asset forth inthe Code of Federal regulations
• Order, receive and stock medicationin accordance withDEA and State regulations. (If granted Power of Attorney)
• Provide daily assessment of patients
• AssistNursing Supervisor to orient new nursing staff
• Other related duties asdeterminedby supervisor

Qualifications:

• Current & good standing LPN/LVN license in the State of California. In CA only, a CA license as a Psychiatric Technician may be substituted fornursinglicense.
• Current CPR certificationrequired
• EMR & computerproficiencydesired
• Experience in chemical dependency preferred, self-motivated and directed, must have a positive attitude toward individuals in substance abuse treatment.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range:

Salary ranges from $27.91 to $28.91 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education,specialtyand training.
