Job summary

  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

About Us: Join the Valley Children’s Audiology team and have a personal impact on the lives of the children in central California. As part of the premier pediatric hospital in the valley, you will assess, treat, and manage the hearing needs of our diverse patient population. This includes providing diagnostic audiology services to newborns through young adults, dispensing amplification devices, and counseling patients and families to support their communication strategies. Audiologists coordinate care with a range of hospital disciplines and community services, and implement developmentally and culturally appropriate education to meet learning needs.

Job Summary

This position is accountable for the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with auditory disorders and hearing impairments. The audiologist completes diagnostic assessments, including ABR and behavioral testing, dispenses hearing aids and assistive devices, and provides counseling to support preferred communication strategies. The role requires coordination with hospital disciplines, community services, and the implementation of culturally appropriate education to meet patient and family needs.

Qualifications
  • Education: Masters Degree in Audiology (required); Doctorate in Audiology (preferred).
  • Licenses & Certifications: AU—Audiologist License; SLP/AUD & CAHAD—Speech‑Language Pathology/Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispenser Board (required); BLS—Basic Life Support from AHA (required, within 30 days of hire); ASHA—American Speech Language Association (preferred).
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years pediatric experience, or 5 years related experience (preferred).
  • Skills: Bilingual skills preferred; ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Compensation

Hourly rate: $44.85 – $69.60 (dependent upon skills and experience).
