College/Department Information
The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University provides dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. Patients have the option to receive treatment in one of three models: student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. The facility serves patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting students, faculty, and residents with supplies and instruments for all patient care activity and/or pre-clinical activity. It is responsible and accountable for electronic inventory control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments. It is responsible for charge slips for items students purchase. It is responsible for maintaining equipment, including minor repairs. It is responsible for assisting with the collection of dirty instruments and processing these instruments. It maintains upkeep and order of storage rooms to ensure proper ordering of supplies needed for clinics and to maintain the integrity of the supply inventory system. It maintains supplies for all clinics, dispensaries and clinical labs.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma, or GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and two years of experience in a customer service setting with a basic understanding of inventory control.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from a Dental Assisting Program with two years' experience in dental assisting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the principles of infectious disease transmission; infection prevention and control; dental instruments, supplies, equipment, and procedures.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
SKILLS
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to decide each day's work is a priority to ensure all deadlines are met.
Ability to communicate with dental assistants, students, staff and faculty to ensure that all deadlines are met in order to maintain clinic and preclinical supply and instrument needs.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Pay Band: B3
Salary: Minimum $16.54/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University. If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage. Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle. For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation. All employees are responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of sensitive information by exercising sound judgment and adhering to cybersecurity and privacy policies during their employment and beyond.
