Builders FirstSource seeks a dispatch clerk to assign motor vehicles and drivers for the conveyance of building materials. You will compile vehicle lists, assign orders, issue credentials, and maintain trip records while coordinating with drivers and customers to expedite deliveries.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of related experience; basic recordkeeping and communication skills are essential to success in this position.

• Investigate overdue vehicles and direct drivers via two-way radio.
• Coordinate with customers to expedite, locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
• Maintain mileage, fuel, repairs, and other expense records; establish service or delivery routes.
• Assign helpers to drivers and perform other duties as assigned.

PURPOSE

Assigns motor vehicles and drivers for conveyance of building materials by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compiles list of available vehicles.
• Assigns vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight or passenger requirements, and preference of user.
• Assigns orders to lift operators to be pulled from inventory.
• Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
• Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
• Investigates overdue vehicles.
• Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.
• Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
• Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
• Establishes service or delivery routes.
• Assigns helpers to drivers.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
