Job summary

SMS DELIVERY LLC in Teterboro, NJ is seeking a Dispatcher to support our delivery operations. You will coordinate drivers, monitor routes for timeliness, and use mapping tools to re-route when needed while liaising with SMS Delivery management.

The ideal candidate has dispatching experience, strong communication skills in English (Spanish preferred) and basic computer skills. 10-hour day shifts and weekend availability are required.

Dispatcher Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

• 1) Ensure Responsible Delivery - packages are delivered on-time, handled properly and safely
  • Manage opening and /or closing set up/ stand down
  • Monitoring of route timeliness
  • Use of mapping and GPS programs
  • Ability to re-route vehicles when logistically necessary
  • Liaison between drivers, staff and SMS Delivery management
  • Manage large amounts of incoming calls
  • Dispatch order to messengers and drivers
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information for every delivery
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution
  • Manage On the Road accidents and incidents with composure
• 2) Deliver Clear Communication
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively,
  • Ability to read delivery documents, customer order information, directions, etc. in English/ Preferred also Spanish
  • Must be able to use your updated cell phone (iPhone, Android etc ) with a data plan for working purposes
• 3) Provide shift flexibility
  • Ability to work a flexible shift (including early mornings, late evenings and/or weekends)
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs
  • Ability to drive Box Truck, Step Vans, and Cargo Vans when needed
