Job summary

Parkland US People Corp is seeking an experienced dispatch/logistics professional to manage driver routing, scheduling, and customer communications. You will ensure efficient deliveries, coordinate with drivers and customers, and monitor operations for performance and safety. Strong written and verbal English communication is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fuel inventory for all Parkland locations and backup for Account Managers on keep-fill sites.
  • Assign drivers to trucks and routes to maximize efficiency and profitability while following safety requirements.
  • Manage schedule changes due to driver absences or vehicle maintenance.
  • Adjust assignments and routes and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Log and report emergency delivery details and coordinate with drivers for issues in transit or delivery.
  • Coordinate with drivers, management and customers to fulfill orders and resolve problems.
  • Monitor GPS units to track trucks and ensure on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain fuel inventory for all Parkland fuel locations and provide backup for the Account Managers keep-fill sites.
  • Utilize independent judgment to assign drivers to trucks and routes to maximize operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability, all while adhering to safety requirements.
  • Exercise discretion while managing schedule changes due to driver absences, business changes, and/or vehicle maintenance.
  • Adjust assignments and routes as needed, communicating changes to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Report any service failures to the Logistics Manager with an incident report and send communication to the Stakeholders affected.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for drivers and troubleshoot concerns.
  • Manage and escal onsite emergencies reported by drivers to the appropriate parties in compliance with company, environmental, health, safety and security guidelines.
  • Log and report emergency delivery details.
  • Review and analyze previous day deliveries to all customers to ensure routes were adhered to and efficiency levels were met or exceeded.
  • Remain flexible to schedule needs, including covering extra shifts when other team members are out on vacation or sick.
  • Facilitate on-call shifts when scheduled and maintain driver routes accurately.
  • Records customer orders, dispatches the order to the Drivers, provides BOL (Bill of Lading i.e. Pink Slip) to the Administrative team for further processing. Ensures customer orders are correct. Monitors key performance data to anticipate customer service problems, opportunities and risks.
  • Coordinates with Drivers to resolve any issues, problems or concerns that arise in transit or during delivery. Decides and disseminate solutions to meet and satisfy customer needs.
  • Coordinates with Management, Drivers, and Customers to fulfill customer orders.
  • Report problems to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner and follow-up to ensure problem resolutions.
  • Monitors GPS units on the trucks to assist in processing customer orders effectively & efficiently and use location in the event of an emergency to locate the Driver & trucks.
  • Scheduling all inbound and outbound trucks daily.
  • Maintains a viable relationship with truck drivers and customers to ensure needs are always met.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
Education:
  • GED equivalent, High School Diploma, or higher degree preferred
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience dealing with customers
  • At least 1 year of dispatching and/or logistics experience
  • Customer service focus including the ability to speak diplomatically and be a problem solver
  • Experience in writing and implementing processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize opportunities to improve business results
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
