Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months related experience and/or training.
• Prior Dispatching experience in a fast-moving environment preferred.
• Understanding of time-sensitive deliveries including medications, specimens and results.
• Ability to solve problems quickly, as time is of the essence.
• Geographical understanding is a plus.
• Certifications in HIPAA Training & Blood Borne Pathogen Training are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic math with several units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Logs all orders and work onto dispatch sheet.
• Dispatches all runs to ensure deliveries are made as scheduled.
• Provides customers with accurate and timely information about activity.
• Assists Terminal Manager in all phases of the operation.
• Assigns vehicles by trip length, freight requirements, and user preference.
• Records departure time, destination, cargo, and ETA.
• Investigates overdue vehicles.
• Directs drivers via calls or texts per customer requirements.
• Tracks in-transit shipments.
• Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing/delayed/damaged merchandise.
