LKQ Corporation in Gorham, ME is seeking a Dismantler Helper to perform day-to-day tasks in the Processing Department, following safety standards and guidelines. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., with starting pay of $20 to $22 per hour and benefits. You will assist dismantlers, learn tagging and storage of parts, work with engine dismantlers as needed, and maintain accurate records while complying with procedures.

• Basic math for unit conversions and measurements.
• Basic computer skills for simple record-keeping.
• Clear oral communication to share information with team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dismantler/Trainer with dismantling vehicles.
• Learn the dismantling system, tagging and storing parts.
• Work with Engine Dismantlers as needed to learn engine dismantling.
• Follow safety standards and maintain a hazard-free workplace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday 6:30a-4:30p Starting Pay $20 - $22 w/ Great Benefits!**Essential Job Duties*** Assist Dismantler/Trainer with dismantling vehicles.* Learn and complete the system of dismantling, tagging and storing of all parts.* Work with Engine Dismantlers as needed to learn engine dismantling.* Comply with all safety standards and requirements to ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace.* Assume other duties as assigned.**Supervisory Responsibilities*** Not responsible for supervising employees.**Minimum Requirements****Education & Experience*** Background in either body repair, mechanical, or previous dismantling experience.* May be required to have own set of tools as needed to carry out duties.**Preferred** **Requirements*** High School Diploma/GED**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities*** Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.* Basic computer skills.* Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.* Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.* Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved.* Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager.* Assignments/priorities provide by supervisor/manager.**Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment*** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.* The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
