Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher/Steward to join our culinary team. This entry-level role focuses on cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the kitchen to support upscale private club standards.

The Dishwasher will operate dishwashing equipment, ensure proper dish handling, and assist with basic food preparation as needed. Training is provided to ensure competence in all duties and safety protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club offers a positive working environment and opportunity to grow within the kitchen environment.

We have an entry level opportunity in our kitchen for a reliable and hardworking individual. The Dishwasher will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils and cookware. This includes washing, drying, sorting and storing dishes correctly. The Dishwasher will also be responsible for cleaning the kitchen including counters, floors, walls and other areas as assigned. The Dishwasher will also need to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Work Hours and Benefits

This is a full-time position with flexible hours available, however, full open availability is required. The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, including paid vacation time, meal discounts and health insurance.

Qualifications

Successful applicants should have prior dishwashing experience, a basic understanding of food safety and sanitation, and the ability to lift heavy objects. Excellent time management and organization skills are also desirable.

Training and Education

No prior educational background is required for this position. On-the-job training is provided to ensure the Dishwasher is comfortable with all duties and responsibilities.

What a typical day looks like for a dishwasher

A dishwasher's primary daily task is to ensure that dishes, glasses, cutlery, and other kitchen items are cleaned properly. On a typical day, a dishwasher will first unload any previously washed items and organize them appropriately. Then they will load the soiled items into the washer and start the cycle. After the cycle is finished, they will unload the dishes and carefully inspect them to ensure they are clean. Finally, they may hand-dry the dishes, put them away, empty the sink, and scrub out the washer to prepare it for the next cycle.
