Saintjohnsmilw is seeking a dedicated individual for institutional housekeeping in Milwaukee. This position involves the sanitary maintenance of food service areas, including deep cleaning cooking equipment, managing stock, and ensuring cleanliness in kitchens.
Successful candidates will demonstrate communication skills, dependability, and a strong customer service attitude while serving older adults. Flexibility in hours is essential.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Deep cleans food service equipment according to established schedule; cooking equipment (ovens/steamers/grills/broilers/food warmers), worktables, mobile food carts, refrigerated storage units, other food service equipment, as assigned. Runs dish machine to clean all production equipment i.e., pots, pans, utensils, baking sheet.
2. Keeps storage shelves and storerooms clean, organized with items properly stored and rotated when deliveries are made. Reads grocery invoices and verifies receipt of items; notifies supervisor on‑duty of shortages/damaged goods, etc. Puts stock away in a timely, orderly fashion upon arrival.
3. Handles removal of garbage and all trash from kitchen‑to‑kitchen dumpster or compactor area; flattens boxes prior to disposal, hoses out/scrubs interior/exterior; and relines garbage can.
4. Cleans handwashing sinks, restocks hand‑washing liquid and paper towels, and other supplies as needed throughout shift.
5. De‑limes dish machines in Taylor’s and LL kitchen per bi‑weekly schedule.
6. Assures that all resident/client rights are always maintained. Reports any violations or suspected deviations immediately, according to Saint John’s policy.
7. Maintains confidentiality of all department and organizational information.
8. Knows and follows existing lines of communication and authority.
9. Works tactfully and cooperatively with residents, clients, families, visitors, and staff throughout the organization.
10. Attends in‑services, meetings, seminars as required and changes schedule or works overtime to meet the needs of the residents.
11. Works in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
