Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group in California is hiring to support our Outback Steakhouse kitchen as an hourly, non-exempt back-of-house team member. You will keep dishwashing areas organized, restock, and ensure food safety standards while supporting a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of BOH experience in a full-service setting, flexibility with shifts, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• 1+ year BOH experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.
• For California positions: Responsible Beverage Service Certifications required (within 60 days).

Responsibilities

• Keeps dishwashing areas organized to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Manages tasks to maintain kitchen workflow.
• Follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Restocks kitchen and cooking line as needed.
• Performs routine cleaning of the kitchen and assists with cleaning tasks.
• Operates dish machine and handles chemicals safely.
• Keeps floors clean and dry, and ensures proper washing and storage of dishes.
• Maintains food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas adhering to health regulations.
• Identifies unsafe practices and notifies management.
• Demonstrates teamwork across restaurant departments.
