Job Summary

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in orderly and sanitary condition. Performs all dishwashing duties by hand or with mechanical washing equipment while ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrapes, rinses, and places food from dirty dishes into hand or machine washing stations. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Washes pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures, ensuring full cleanliness.
• Polishes silverware using burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, or hand cloths per equipment guidelines, ensuring complete cleanliness.
• Ensures compliance with safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintains chemical and temperature levels as outlined by standards.
• Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food‑prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it in designated containers; steam‑cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Helps load and unload supplies and products.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
