Job summary

Morrison Healthcare at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a dedicated dishwashing teammate to maintain cleanliness of dishes, pots, pans, trays, utensils, and surrounding areas. The 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. shift includes rotating weekends and major holidays.

Prior dishwashing experience is required. This role offers both full-time and part-time positions with comprehensive benefits and an opportunity to contribute to a high-standard healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash by hand or in the dishwashing machine.
• Wash pots, pans and trays and ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.

• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain proper temperatures and chemical levels.
• Keep dish area orderly and comply with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and assist with load/unload of supplies.

Location and Schedule

Mission Hospital – 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 Full‑time shift: 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (days may vary; rotating weekends and major holidays included).

Job Summary

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, utensils, kitchen work areas, equipment, and surrounding surfaces in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash by hand or place in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Wash pots, pans and trays using assigned procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polish silverware using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth as required, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam‑clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Help load and unload supplies and product.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Previous dishwashing experience is required.
