Job summary

SusieCakes Bakery is seeking a diligent dishwasher to support daily bakery operations. You will wash and sanitize pots, pans and dishes, maintain cleanliness, and assist with food prep as needed.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and the ability to work weekends/holidays. Learn from a friendly, hospitality-focused team and contribute to our on-site, scratch-made bake shop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or entry level food handling experience a plus.
• Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment
• Attention to detail and reliability
• Ability to work in cross functional roles (front- and back-of-house)
• Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwasher/pot sinks to wash and store pots, pans, utensils, and dishware.
• Perform side work such as breaking down boxes, taking out trash, and restocking paper and food orders.
• Daily cleaning of sinks, drains, shelves, floors, and walk-in units to health dept. standards.
• Prepare baked goods according to recipes and SOPs, including scooping cookies and mixing batters.
• Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored per food safety codes.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment in compliance with state and federal health standards.
• Report sanitation or janitorial issues to the manager on duty.
• Operate bakery equipment (mixers, burners, dishwasher) safely.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies.
• Assist culinary team with production as needed

Clean and store all bakery pots, pans, utensils and dishes either by hand or utilizing dishwashing equipment. Perform basic culinary food preparation and other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate dishwasher/pot sinks to wash and store pots, pans, utensils, and dishware
• Perform side work as needed, i.e. break down boxes and remove trash, receive and put away paper and food orders
• Perform daily cleaning, i.e. sinks, drains, metro shelves, trash bins, floors, walk-in freezer/refrigerator, grease traps (if applicable)
• Prepare baked goods according to recipes and standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, scooping cookies, cutting bars/cookies, mixing buttercreams, etc.
• Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with state and federal health department standards
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to manager on duty
• Operate and properly use bakery equipment according to recipes/standard operating procedures, i.e. mixers, induction burners, dishwasher, etc.
• Monitor cleaning supplies inventory levels
• Assist culinary team with production as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds

EDUCATION:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Must be able to speak and read English for safety purposes
