Job summary

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort invites you to join our Steward team. In this role you help keep our kitchen foundation clean, safe, and ready for service by assisting with dishwashing, sanitizing utensils, and organizing service pieces behind the scenes.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with culinary professionals, and develop foundational hospitality skills through dependable teamwork, strong work ethic, and pride in presentation.

Qualifications

  • Ability to safely and effectively clean, sanitize, handle, and store dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and serving pieces using dish machines and hand-washing methods.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of an active stewarding position, including prolonged standing and frequent lifting, bending, and movement.
  • Ability to speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with dishwashing to keep items clean and service-ready.
  • Maintain stewarding areas, floors, and equipment in a safe, sanitary state.
  • Support culinary professionals by transporting and storing kitchen items as needed.

Job description

A clean, safe, and service-ready foundation supports every exceptional culinary experience. As a Steward at Nemacolin, you help create that foundation through attentive care, thorough sanitation, and dependable support behind the scenes. A significant part of your role will be assisting with dishwashing, ensuring dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and serving pieces are clean, sanitized, and ready for service. You will also care for kitchen areas and equipment while supporting culinary professionals and building foundational hospitality skills through teamwork, reliability, and pride in your work.

What You Will Create
  • Keep culinary operations ready for service by assisting with dishwashing and ensuring dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and serving pieces are cleaned, sanitized, organized, and available when needed
  • Create a safe and sanitary kitchen environment by maintaining stewarding areas, floors, equipment, garbage areas, and other spaces that support daily culinary operations
  • Keep the kitchen moving behind the scenes by responding to the needs of culinary associates, properly transporting and storing kitchen items, and stepping in wherever support is needed
  • Build a foundation for hospitality success by developing dependable work habits, learning professional sanitation and safety practices, and contributing to a team that takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences

  • Ability to safely handle kitchen waste and maintain waste and dumpster areas
  • Ability to safely operate dishwashing equipment, disposals, and other assigned kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to speak English
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of an active stewarding position, including prolonged standing and frequent lifting, bending, and movement
