Job summary

Lovington Healthcare is seeking a full-time dining services worker to assist with meal preparation, service, and cleanup for residents in the nursing center. You will maintain an attractive, sanitary dining environment and ensure meals are delivered on schedule.

Responsibilities include assisting with food ordering, storage and prep, supporting cooks, preparing nourishments, desserts, salads and beverages, following production sheets, and performing cleaning duties to meet safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a large-scale cooking operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with food ordering, storage and prep as designated by the supervisor.
• Assists cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepares and labels nourishments per center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets when appropriate.
• Performs pre-preparation such as washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits; slices meat and weighs portions.
• Follows cleaning schedule; cleans equipment and work area; sweeps/mops floors; takes trash to dumpster; washes pots and pans.
• Meets meal schedules and serves meals in a timely manner.
• Washes dishes and silverware; returns clean items; assists with cleaning of kitchen as assigned.

• Completes pre-preparation as needed or assigned including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits to prepare for use; Slices meat and measures or weighs for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follows the cleaning schedule; Cleans the equipment and work area after each use; Sweeps and mops kitchen floors as assigned; Takes trash to dumpster as assigned; Washes pots and pans as assigned.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Washes dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure; Puts clean dishes and silverware away; Assists with cleaning of equipment, dishes, silverware and kitchen as assigned.
