Hy-Vee in Grimes, IA is seeking a Dishroom Clerk to maintain a clean, safe, well-run kitchen. You will wash dishes, keep equipment organized, and support the Market Grille team to deliver great food and service.

This hourly role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adherence to hygiene standards. If you take pride in a clean workspace and staying active, we'd love to have you on our team.

Training is provided; pre-employment drug screen applies.

What You'll Do

To be successful, you'll need to be able to:

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly

Reporting Relationships

Accountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Manager; Market Grille Department Manager; Assistant Market Grille Department Manager

Education And Experience

• No education requirement; six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
• Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
• Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
• Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
• Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Working Environment

This role is performed in a kitchen environment where you will be on your feet throughout your shift. You will have exposure to noise, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals or solvents, temperature extremes, and possible electrical hazards. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
