Hy-Vee Inc. is hiring a Dishroom Clerk in the Market Grille department. You will help keep equipment, dishes, utensils, and the work area spotless so the team can deliver great food and service to customers.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and staying active during shifts, with responsibilities including cleaning and assisting in other areas as needed. A positive, energetic attitude is essential.

What You’ll Do

Reporting Relationships

Accountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Manager; Market Grille Department Manager; Assistant Market Grille Department Manager

Education and Experience

No education requirement; six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas

• Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
• Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
• Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
• Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Working Environment

This role is performed in a kitchen environment where you will be on your feet throughout your shift. You will have exposure to noise, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals or solvents, temperature extremes, and possible electrical hazards. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.

Compensation

The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $11.41 to $14.00 depending on experience.
