Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line in Denali Employee Community seeks a Dish Steward to maintain sanitation and service standards in a busy kitchen. You will operate dish machines, support kitchen team, and help with stocking, safety logs, and guest-ready cleanliness during the season.

Qualifications

  • Alaska Food Handler Card (current or obtainable)
  • Pre-employment background check

Responsibilities

  • Clean, wash, dry, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment per Company standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment, chemicals, and linens.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work and storage spaces.
  • Assist with stocking the kitchen and organizing products.
  • Complete sanitization and food safety protocols and logs with management guidance.
  • Contribute to a positive guest experience with a professional appearance.

You will operate dish machine equipment and handle delicate commercial kitchenware with elevated standards of quality and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean, wash, dry, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment per Company standards and specifications in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment, chemicals, and linens.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
  • Assist with stocking the kitchen and organizing products.
  • Completing sanitization and food safety protocols and logs with assistance and direction from management.
  • Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, work around hot kitchen equipment safely and stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work safely in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
